After meeting your driver, we leave Marrakech, venturing through the magnificent Atlas Mountains and the pass of Tichka (2260 m). This route offers an impressive landscape in the heart of the Atlas Mountain chain, leading us to Ouarzazate, where many famous movies have been shot, such as Alexander the Great, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Kingdom of Heaven.
The scenery is absolutely stunning. Along the way, we will stop at the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, one of the most spectacular fortresses in the South of Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. After a delicious lunch in Ouarzazate, known as “The Hollywood of Africa,” we continue our journey to the Draa Valley, covering a distance of 200 km before we reach Zagora. You will enjoy an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast at the hotel. This is the start of your tour from Marrakech to Erg Chigaga in 3 days!
Starting our day, we will drive to Tamgrouut to visit the famous Koran Library, the subterranean Kasbah, and the pottery workshop. Then, we will continue towards M’hamid for lunch. In the afternoon, after an hour and a half camel ride, we take a track that leads us through the rocky desert scenery to the stunning sand dunes of Chigaga, which stretches over 40 km. Here, you will receive a welcome drink and enjoy a beautiful sunset. You will spend the night in a desert camp under a sky full of stars, with evening meals and breakfast included.
After spending a magical night in the Erg Chigaga desert camp, we will depart with 4×4 jeeps via the old Paris-Dakar race road to Foum Zguid, crossing Iriqui Lake. We will stop for a lunch break in the Berber village of Taznakht. Finally, we will arrive in Marrakech during sunset, concluding your incredible tour from Marrakech to Erg Chigaga in 3 days.
