30 Minutes Before Departure
Your Tangier desert tour begins with a scenic drive along the Rif Mountains. We’ll pass through Tetouan, known for its Andalusian influence, before reaching the charming town of Chefchaouen, famous for its blue-painted streets and peaceful atmosphere. Enjoy a guided walk through the medina, relax in one of the local cafés, and take in the views from the Spanish Mosque. Overnight stay in a traditional riad.
After breakfast, we drive through the rolling countryside toward the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, where you’ll explore impressive mosaics and ruins. Next, we visit Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, where you’ll see the Bab Mansour gate, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, and the Royal Stables. By evening, we arrive in Fez, a cultural and spiritual center of Morocco. Overnight in a riad inside the medina.
Explore the heart of Morocco with a guided tour of Fez. Discover the UNESCO-listed Fes el-Bali, visit the University of Al Quaraouiyine (the oldest in the world), the Chouara Tannery, the Bou Inania Madrasa, and traditional artisan souks. Your guide will help you navigate the narrow alleys and share the city’s rich history. In the afternoon, enjoy panoramic views from the Merenid Tombs.
Today’s drive takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, starting with a stop in Ifrane (known as Morocco’s Switzerland), and the cedar forest of Azrou, home to wild monkeys. Continue through Midelt and the beautiful Ziz Valley, lined with palm trees and kasbahs. In the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, gateway to the Sahara. Enjoy a camel ride in the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and watch the sunset before spending a magical night in a luxury desert camp under the stars.
Wake up early for sunrise over the dunes, then ride camels back to Merzouga. After breakfast, we visit the traditional market in Rissani, and continue toward Tinghir and the breathtaking Todra Gorges, ideal for short walks or rock climbing. In the late afternoon, we drive through the scenic Dades Valley, known for its rock formations and kasbahs. Overnight stay in a cozy hotel in Boumalne Dades.
After breakfast, we head toward the Valley of Roses, especially beautiful in spring. We pass by Skoura oasis and visit Ouarzazate, the Moroccan “Hollywood” and home to Atlas Film Studios. A highlight of the day is the visit to the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO site where films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed. We then cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
Today you’ll discover the red city on a private Marrakech city tour. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Majorelle Gardens. Explore the bustling souks and the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where you’ll see street performers, snake charmers, and local food stalls. The guide will adapt the visit to your pace and interests.
